In order for students to be proficient in science, it is important for standards to be developed to help guide student learning. NGSS provides a list of standards that utilize a framework emphasizing practices used by scientists, concepts used across scientific fields, and to provide core ideas to prepare students for what is to come later in their education. These standards also stress these concepts are important for students because they will help them be competitive at an international level. On this website, you are able to view and search the standards set by NGSS, download content for implementation at the school level, and download rubrics for lesson plans. Additionally, there are resources for understanding the standards and evidence for their effectiveness.
